Bizmore Question of the Day: Will the iPad Sell as a Business Tool?

Topics: apple, ipad

When Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the much-anticipated iPad tablet computer last week, much of the attention was focused on its entertainment value. But is the $499 or $699 device useful for businesses too? Opinions are mixed. Dave Coursey at PC World says the iPad isn't ready for the office yet. Why? Because, he argues, it's just an oversized iPod Touch lacking in business-friendly features like a keyboard. Over at The Apple Blog (not affiliated with the company), Mark Crump disagrees. He says that there are lots of reasons why the small, sleek iPad is the perfect on-the-go business tool and could be used for, say, sale presentations or note-taking during meetings.

So what do you think? Will the iPad be a hit in the office too — or is this a purely consumer gadget? What features does it have — or would need to have — for it to be useful to you in your job? Join the Bizmore discussion on the iPad and let us know your thoughts.
