Podcast: (Healthy) Ways to Cope With Holiday Stress

Last month, one of my coworkers was vocalizing the pain of her migraine headache. We happened to have a motivational speaker, Boaz Rauchwerger, in our office. He recognized her pain and sat down with her for 20 minutes, taking her through a detailed visualization process in which the headache becomes an object that is burned away from her mind's eye. Boaz, I soon learned, understand the human condition like this: The reality that we think and speak is the one we get. The person who says, "I always get migraines," is going to continue to get migraines on a regular basis because he "affirms" the headaches on a regular basis.

Well, Boaz left the office that day and I decided to invite him back as a guest on my podcast show. What followed was an eye-opening conversation about being the person you really want to be. We also delved into dealing with the stressful parts of the holidays, such as tolerating the in-laws, or going to the spouse's holiday party.
